I said a few weeks ago that I was going back to smashwords as my distributor.. Things seemed fine however it appears that one of my releases “Kennies’ Guide To The Galaxy” keeps getting hit with errors for distribution.. I’ve redone this fucking thing about nine times already… My latest is I completely stripped it down to nothing.. if I get rejected which I think I will. I’m going back to bookrix for that book and everything else from here on out. I may not get the reads but I don’t like how they’re formatting my books at this time I won’t carry over any old releases I’ll just stick with everything new from here on out.
So what many of you may or may not know at this point in time, I released a few erotic stories that I posted directly on here as well as I released another book called “Dare 2” yup it finally got released.
The final line of the write up is: It will leave you wet and wanting more.
Clearly that’s the case, as in less than 12 hours I have 59 views (as of this post) Haven’t seen things jump that high in a while. Of course unlike my last few releases this one was released through Smashwords because of the fact that Bookrix doesn’t like to distribute erotica for a few reasons which they explained to me and I can understand why, it’s a very touchy thing to release. Since erotica can range from a large section of things and it can get into some very interesting content and it may make people feel uneasy.
In fact the most common thing that gets mentioned from distributors can be settled as confusing to some, for example in some cases the person who writes it like’s to have the female call the male “Daddy”. Which could be taken a few different ways and can be understanding why certain companies won’t distribute things. That’s one of the most common things that basically walk on the edge.
So if your an erotica writer and you use stuff like that where one of your characters calls your other character “Daddy” or “Mommy” and you get rejected, it’s not that your shit isn’t good enough. It’s the wording that sometimes people get uncomfortable with for that reason. That’s just a little bit of information for all you writers and anyone who actually want to know.
I honestly wish I had a few reviews, I’m curious how people enjoy or dislike the book. I know I have written a few of my readers but I haven’t heard back from anyone.
So I’ve been moving a few of my releases … I think the last eight from Smashwords to Bookrix, they will stay on smashwords however I want them on bookrix so that they have a bunch of stuff to distribute in those channels.
Anyways it seems that I have a few books that aren’t quite long enough so that means I get to add more to them, so far I have two books:
Kennie’s Guide To The Galaxy
Which means all of my fine readers will start getting more writing from me in due time to help expand things. Of course with Growth I might just take some of my current releases to add to it that would work with that release… I’ll no doubt do the same with Kennie’s Guide To The Galaxy too, have had a few ideas for expanding that.. So I’m looking forward to putting my ideas together and getting it out there.
I’m also thinking with me expanding things I’m going to give it a new book cover as well to symbolize that it’s different.
I also have two more music albums to get online up on mediafire, hopefully I’ll get those online today too
So you’ll have lots more to look forward to, I’m getting excited just thinking about things.
Perhaps something new will be online today.. time will tell.
So a while ago I made mention about changing up distribution platforms from Smashwords to Bookrix but it didn’t last maybe a week and felt like I got zero results. Well it turns out Bookrix is slower at bringing in data from some places than smashwords.
Anyways so I sat around and thought and looked at the over all and I think I’m going to look at going back to Bookrix, I need more of a challenge and to get my books into different places. So I’m going to start making that change ASAP. I think this will mean that I’m leaving smashwords behind for good and focusing on a new chapter in my life.
Time to get things going cause I have 3 books I can push out to distribution in a short time
Alright so ever since 2011 I’ve been distributing my stuff with Smashwords, however in 2017 I decided that once the new year hit I would try something new, so 2018 rolled around and I introduced myself to Bookrix and was ready to tackle something new.
I’m now questioning myself.
I released Kenesis January 29 2018 and it has never gotten a single read.
I released Kennigma February 5 2018 and it hasn’t gotten a single read.
It’s making me scratch my head and wonder a few things about bookrix.
I’m tempted at taking one of the books and distributing it through Smashwords to see how it would compare.
Since my last book through smashwords was Make Waves and it has 16 reads
But I guess right now I’m just going to stick with Bookrix, maybe I have to wait X amount of time before I notice things numbers showing up, I don’t know. I’m new with them so right now all I can do is wait, it certainly is making me scratch my head but I don’t want to pass it off right yet.
The wait continues…
